About the role
The Physiotherapy Assistant Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, supervising and supporting the Physiotherapy Assistant workforce within the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital Physiotherapy Department. The role ensures the efficient delivery of high-quality physiotherapy support services while assisting in the provision of patient care under the direction of physiotherapists and other health professionals.
The successful candidate will manage workforce allocation, coordinate operational processes, oversee equipment and resources, and support education and training programs for physiotherapy assistants. The role also contributes to quality improvement initiatives, staff development, clinical service delivery and effective communication across multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Coordinate and supervise the Physiotherapy Assistant workforce, ensuring effective workload management and efficient allocation of resources across the service.
Develop, implement and support education, training and professional development programs for physiotherapy assistants to maintain high standards of practice.
Provide delegated clinical care and undertake prescribed assessments for patients with diverse and complex needs under the supervision of physiotherapists.
Manage departmental equipment, operational systems and data collection processes to support safe, efficient and effective service delivery.
Build strong working relationships with multidisciplinary teams and provide advice on workforce, service development and operational matters to support quality patient outcomes.
