Housekeeper – Adelaide Lounge

Job Scope
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation throughout the lounge. The role plays an important part in ensuring guests experience a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness, hygiene and overall presentation of the lounge and associated facilities.
- Ensure shower rooms, washrooms, back-of-house areas, buffet counters and other designated areas are kept clean, neat and well presented.
- Vacuum, sweep and mop lounge areas, including shower rooms and male and female washrooms within the PPL and AMEX lounges.
- Clean and sanitise high-touch surfaces and guest facilities in accordance with established hygiene standards.
- Monitor guest traffic and complete cleaning duties in a timely and discreet manner to minimise disruption to guests.
- Conduct regular stock checks of housekeeping supplies, cleaning consumables and amenities.
- Monitor stock levels and promptly advise management when replenishment or reordering is required.
- Follow correct cleaning methods, hygiene principles and safe operating procedures at all times.
- Safely operate cleaning equipment and use appropriate manual handling techniques.
- Select and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for each cleaning task.
- Ensure all cleaning chemicals, products and equipment are handled, stored and used safely in accordance with company procedures.
- Comply with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements, company policies and relevant operational procedures.
- Identify and promptly report hazards, maintenance concerns, damaged equipment or other safety issues to management.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail and ensure all assigned areas meet company cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Complete duties efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision.
- Work collaboratively with lounge, food and beverage and operational teams to support a seamless guest experience.
- Assist with additional housekeeping or operational duties as required.
Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous housekeeping, cleaning, hospitality or similar experience; however, relevant experience is advantageous rather than essential.
- A strong understanding of cleanliness, hygiene and safe cleaning practices.
- High attention to detail and pride in maintaining excellent presentation standards.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- A hardworking, reliable and accountable approach to work.
- A positive attitude and willingness to support the broader lounge operation.
- Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy hospitality environment.
- The physical capability to undertake housekeeping duties, including standing, walking, bending, lifting and operating cleaning equipment.
- Availability to work early morning shifts.
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays where required.
