Southern Cross Care is seeking a Full-time Cleaner to join our team at our beautiful Duhig Village Residential Aged Care Home in Holland Park.

About the role
Reporting to the Hospitality Services Manager, you will play an important role in creating a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment for our residents. Working as part of a supportive hospitality team, you will provide high-quality cleaning, domestic and laundry services across the home, including resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas and public spaces
.
Most importantly, you will bring a positive attitude, strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to supporting the comfort, dignity and wellbeing of our residents. Your reliable and caring approach will help create a safe, welcoming and person-centred home environment that reflects Southern Cross Care Queensland’s values.
What are the key responsibilities?
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Clean and maintain resident rooms, bathrooms and ensuite facilities to a high standard.
- Clean common and public areas, including lounges, dining areas, corridors and shared spaces.
- Undertake general cleaning including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitising surfaces and emptying bins.
- Clean and sanitise high-touch surfaces in accordance with infection control requirements.
- Undertake scheduled and deep-cleaning tasks as required.
- Use and maintain cleaning equipment, chemicals and products safely and appropriately.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and assist with stock control and ordering.
- Assist with basic laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding and distributing residents’ clothing as required.
- Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards or damaged equipment.
- Respect residents’ privacy, dignity and personal belongings while maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment.
What will you bring to the role?
- You will demonstrate compassion, sensitivity and maturity to provide high-quality meals.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Experience working in Aged Care/Hospital.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and to manage your time effectively.
