About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled, friendly, and energetic Barista to join our team at U&CO Cafe. You’ll be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee and other beverages, delivering excellent customer service, and helping create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, filter coffee, tea, and specialty beverages to a consistently high standard
- Take customer orders accurately and process payments efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station, equipment, and service areas
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Restock milk, syrups, cups, and other supplies as needed
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Support other team members during busy periods (food service, cleaning, etc.)
- Assist with opening and closing duties as rostered
- Uphold cafe standards for quality, presentation, and speed of service
Requirements
- Previous barista experience preferred (training can be provided for the right candidate)
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation and latte art is an advantage
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and a positive team player
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights
