About the role
12 month fixed-term opportunity
Safe, effective and efficient transport of goods is an essential part of the Officeworks’ customer experience. We are excited to announce an exciting new role ensuring our transport activities across NSW/ACT are well planned and operating effectively and efficiently.
Based at our NSW DC, this role will plan and coordinate transport ensuring our Transport Logistic Partners meet their service agreements for store replenishment and customer delivery with a focus on safety and compliance.
This vital role will support our NSW/ACT State Supply Chain Operational teams with all aspects relating to BAU transport operations, providing guidance regarding carrier processes & support functions. Ensuring transport methods are planned, executed, and validated, driving and developing relationships and performance with our valued transport providers is essential.
With a key focus on Carrier performance, service delivery and optimisation, this role partners closely with valued NSW/ACT transport providers to review, refine, and optimize daily store replenishment and customer delivery workflows; addressing operational bottlenecks to drive service level agreement (SLA) compliance, champion transport safety standards, and unlock continuous efficiency gains across the state' regional distribution network.
Key responsibilities:
Actively contribute to a safe work environment and promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring safe movement of freight is planned and executed
Partner with our transport partners to ensure alignment with the Logistics Partners engagement model and service agreement compliance
Determine most effective and efficient carrier/service for the movement and management of freight and develop and maintain programs to maximise container fill, within the safety guidelines
Ensure overall governance is maintained and reported across transport providers
Driver delivery performance (DIFOT), including returns, is monitored daily and issues resolved in a timely manner
Ensure Supply Chain has timely visibility over all aspects of BAU transport operations, supported with accurate reporting of performance metrics
Support the state Officeworks’ operational teams regarding BAU transactional performance visibility
About you
This Supply Chain role is for a problem solver and outstanding communicator, a leader who can forge strong commercial relationships with a passion for Supply Chain and customer service. You appreciate the importance of a cohesive and well-informed team in delivering robust and reliable transport services in a safe, efficient and compliant manner.
Tertiary qualified in a related Business/Logistics discipline, we are looking for a seasoned leader of warehouse teams, with a background in working with Tier 1 Logistics Partners and transport providers within a retail environment. Multi-site or state management experience will be highly desirable.
As the primary point of contact for all transport related issues, from stores, customers, and Logistics Partners, you are an excellent communicator with demonstrated success in forging and maintaining successful commercial relationships.
With strong analytical and IT skills, you will have solid transport management system knowledge and a striking attention to detail. With a passion for learning and educating others, you seek for continuous improvement and adding value for operational excellence.
