The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor (Underground) to join our high performing underground mining team at our Duketon operation.
Reporting to the Underground Manager, you will lead the underground survey team and ensure all survey activities are completed accurately, safely and in a timely manner to support underground mining operations.
This role also fulfils the statutory appointment of Authorised Mine Surveyor (Grade 1) for the underground operation.
This is a FIFO role (8:6 roster) from Perth.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
Leading and mentoring the underground survey team to deliver safe and high-quality survey services
Assisting the Underground Manager and Mining Alliance Manager with workload planning, resource allocation and team development
Managing survey team budgets and ensuring adequate resourcing to meet operational requirements
Conducting set-out and pickup surveys for underground development, production and infrastructure activities
Managing underground traversing, control networks and network adjustments
Preparing and maintaining underground mine working plans and statutory survey documentation
Completing end-of-month surveys and calculating production metrics, including volumes mined and metres advanced
Undertaking production void surveys using drone and/or cavity monitoring systems (CMS)
Ensuring all survey work complies with statutory, operational and company requirements
Skills and Experiences:
About you
To be successful for this role, you will have:
Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mine Surveying
Hold, or be able to obtain within six months of appointment, a Grade One Authorised Mine Surveyor (Grade 1) statutory certificate under the Western Australian Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022
Extensive underground mine surveying experience in a similar environment
Previous experience leading and developing survey teams
Advanced proficiency in Deswik survey applications and Move3 adjustment software or similar
Remote pilot License (REPL) desirable
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate and reliable survey outcomes
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and operational teams
