We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the CTO, you will be joining the engineering team while also collaborating closely with our product, customer success, sales, and marketing teams to build and improve our applications, delivering the best experience for our users.
This is a full-time Melbourne-based role. Unfortunately, we will only be able to accept candidates already residing in Australia.
Qualifications and experience required:
4+ years of experience in Node.js full stack development within Agile engineering teams. You are a proven frontend and backend developer with experience implementing appropriate best practices and development patterns in React and Node.js.
Well seasoned on fundamentals of software development, including source control with Git, working with NoSQL databases, networking basics, CI/CD, software development lifecycle.
Excellent communication skills. You can convey complex technical ideas with other engineers as well as with non-technical team members.
Competent testing skills. You have experience with many forms of testing, including unit tests, integration tests, visual tests, performance testing, end-to-end testing.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills. You can think outside the box while factoring in limitations and restrictions. You have a high level of attention to detail, ask questions to validate assumptions, and can explain your decisions with logic and data.
Capacity to work autonomously without being afraid to ask for help when you need it.
Task and duties:
Designing and building our product. You are confident in writing clear, performant, tested code. You will participate in the entire product and software development life cycles from ideation to release, including technical design and architecture of new features, components, and tools.
Helping maintain the quality and security of all code bases. Proactive identification and resolution of bugs is key.
Participating in Agile rituals, peer review, pair programming, and testing. You will work closely with the rest of the engineering team to share knowledge and learn from each other.
Understanding what good security is and how data should be handled. You will learn about the risks our organization faces and how to stay safe through proper security protocols.
Collaborating with the rest of the business. You will learn and help others understand the capabilities of the application. You will consider ideas and thoughts of others in the business to develop an understanding of our customers. You will assist our customer success team by triaging bugs and solving issues in production.
Pay: $100,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
