Role and responsibilities – CHEF
The Chef at our restaurant is vital in delivering high-quality, authentic Indian cuisine by expertly preparing, seasoning, and cooking dishes to perfection. Our Chef is responsible for expertly preparing, seasoning, and cooking authentic regional Indian cuisine, manages tandoor and curry sections, trains junior staff, and controls food costs. The role requires deep knowledge of traditional spices, adherence to Australian food safety laws, and the ability to operate in fast-paced commercial kitchens.
Position Description:
Expertly prepare, season, and cook authentic Indian dishes, including mastering tandoor cooking, gravies, and breads.
Supervise, train, and roster kitchen hands and junior cooks
Plan menus, create new recipes, and estimate food and labor costs in consultation with the business owner.
Monitor food stock, ensure proper preservation of ingredients, and order necessary kitchen supplies.
Enforce strict adherence to Australian food hygiene regulations, sanitation practices, and workplace health and safety (WHS).
Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
