What does the job look like?
As the Senior Shift Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day transport operation supporting a major supermarket retail customer, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant outcomes while driving operational excellence across people, service and financial performance.
Based at our Kemps Creek site, this is a permanent full-time opportunity working Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00am–6:00pm, with flexibility to provide coverage across PM operations when required.
You’ll lead a high-performing team of Allocators, Drivers and subcontractors in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires sound operational judgement, strong commercial acumen and a commitment to creating a culture where safety and service come first.
Key areas of responsibility:
Lead site operations to achieve safety, service, compliance and EBIT targets
Drive a strong safety culture aligned to Vision Zero, Stop for Safety and fatigue management requirements
Own site financial performance including P&L, cost control, payroll and subcontractor rates
Manage and develop Allocators, Drivers and subcontractors to ensure capability, coverage and succession
Deliver consistent service outcomes for a supermarket retail customer through proactive communication and issue resolution
Execute transport plans to achieve OTD targets with zero carryover while maximising asset and labour utilisation
Are you the one?
You’re an experienced transport leader who enjoys hands-on, fast-paced operational environments. You’re confident leading large, varied teams across both AM and PM shifts, and you’re comfortable balancing customer expectations with day-to-day operational needs. Safety is important to you, and you lead by example while keeping a commercial mindset. You can demonstrate:
Proven leadership experience within transport, logistics or large-scale retail operations
Demonstrated accountability for site-level financial performance and commercial decision-making
Strong capability in leading safety performance, incident management and compliance outcomes
Experience managing drivers, allocators and subcontractors in a high-volume supermarket environment
Ability to execute operational plans while responding effectively to real-time disruptions
Flexibility to work a Tuesday–Saturday roster, with flexibility to provide coverage for the PM shift as required
