Permanent Full Time | 9 day fortnight
$74,199 pa (ie. $37.55/hour) - incl. industry and uniform allowance + 12% super (level 3)
76 hour fortnight
Location: Arana Hills
Work with our Roads and Drains team as a Labourer and play a vital role in maintaining the community's civil and transport infrastructure. Collaborating with an experienced Crew Leader, you’ll be at the forefront of maintaining Council’s valuable assets.
Your primary responsibility will be to help ensure your designated area remains safe, tidy and defect free, supporting both planned and reactive maintenance activities across the road and drainage network.
Some of the tasks include:
pathway and footpath repairs and replacements, including concrete areas
kerb and channel repairs, including lintels and stormwater grates
replacing and maintaining manholes, covers, pits and catch pits
undertaking stormwater network maintenance, including pipes, headwalls and open drains
clearing and maintaining open drains and drainage infrastructure
installing, repairing and replacing road signs
repairing traffic islands and associated defects
Your work will directly contribute to the upkeep of Council’s civil and transport infrastructure, making a tangible difference to community safety, accessibility and appearance. This hands on role offers variety, outdoor work and the satisfaction of seeing immediate results from your efforts.
About you
Ideally, you will have recent experience performing labouring tasks related to maintaining or constructing infrastructure similar to those listed above. We’re looking for applicants who demonstrate:
knowledge and physical capability to perform manual tasks safely
recent experience in a manual or labour intensive role
experience working with civil infrastructure
good communication skills and a team oriented mindset
In addition to these skills and experience, successful candidates must possess:
a current truck licence (minimum MR - Medium Rigid)
Construction Induction Card (or be willing to obtain prior to commencement)
