About 1 Spring Sky Lounge
Located within the Capital Square precinct above Elizabeth Quay, our Sky Lounge offers breathtaking 360° views of Perth's city skyline and the Swan River, creating one of the city's most exciting dining destinations.
As we prepare to open, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Chef to join our founding kitchen team and help bring this exceptional venue to life.
About the Role
Reporting to the Sous Chef and Chef de Partie, you will support the kitchen team with food preparation, cooking and presentation across daily service.
This is a hands-on role suited to a developing chef who is passionate about quality food, keen to learn and ready to build their career in a premium dining environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support pre-opening kitchen setup, training, menu tastings and service trials.- Assist with food preparation, cooking and plating in line with recipes and presentation standards.
- Prepare and maintain mise en place for your allocated section.
- Support the Sous Chef and Chef de Partie during busy service periods.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation and safe food storage across kitchen work areas.
- Assist with stock rotation, basic inventory tasks and waste minimisation.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, WHS and operational procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team and take direction from senior chefs.
The Successful Candidate Will Possess
- Previous experience as a Commis Chef, with cooking experience in a busy kitchen environment.
- A genuine passion for cooking and developing a career in hospitality.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen hygiene.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong teamwork, reliability and willingness to learn.
- Good organisation, time-management and attention to detail.
- Relevant commercial cookery qualifications are required.
