WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Environmental Consultant to join our team. The successful applicant will have experience in vegetation management planning, property management planning, and environmental vegetation assessments, with a strong understanding of ecological sustainability and land management practices.
Candidates must be currently residing in the Northern Rivers region.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparing Vegetation Management Plans (VMPs) and Property Management Plans (PMPs);
- Conducting vegetation assessments, ecological site inspections, and environmental reporting;
- Identifying native vegetation communities, weeds of concern, and environmental constraints;
- Undertaking environmental impact assessments and providing practical management recommendations;
- Developing long-term land rehabilitation, revegetation, and conservation strategies;
- Preparing mapping, site documentation, and compliance reports;
- Monitoring vegetation health, biodiversity values, and environmental outcomes;
- Providing advice on environmental legislation, planning requirements, and compliance obligations;
- Liaising with landholders, local councils, government agencies, and other stakeholders;
- Assisting with bush regeneration and habitat restoration projects;
- Conducting fieldwork in rural and regional environments;
- Preparing professional reports, presentations, and environmental documentation for clients;
- Maintaining accurate project records and meeting project deadlines.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Environmental Science, or a closely related field;
- Demonstrated experience preparing vegetation management plans, property management plans, and vegetation assessments;
- Strong knowledge of native vegetation;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team;
- Experience using GIS mapping software and environmental reporting tools is highly desirable;
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to undertake field-based work;
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail; and
- Permanent housing located within 20 km of the workplace is essential.
DESIRABLE:
- Experience in bush regeneration, ecological restoration;
- Chemical accreditation or weed management experience;
- First Aid certification; and
- Experience working with rural properties, farms, or large landholdings.

Salary Expectations
$75,000 - $85,000 pa
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
