About Your Role
As the Social Work Consultant (Child Protection), you will provide expert clinical consultancy and strategic leadership to strengthen child protection services across Metro South Health.
In this role you will:
Lead a comprehensive review of child protection systems and governance.
Deliver gap analyses, strategic recommendations and implementation plans.
Provide expert advice on child protection legislation, policy and practice.
Develop governance frameworks that strengthen accountability and reduce risk.
Build collaborative partnerships across health, government and community sectors.
Prepare high-quality reports, clinical guidelines and executive briefings.
Engage with consumers, diverse communities and key stakeholders.
Influence system-wide improvements that enhance child safety and service delivery.
About You
You are a highly experienced Social Worker with recognised expertise in child protection, strategic leadership and service improvement.
You'll bring:
Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
Extensive experience in child protection within complex health services.
Expert knowledge of child protection legislation, governance and policy.
Proven ability to lead large-scale service reviews and improvement initiatives.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills.
Experience preparing executive reports, strategic advice and recommendations.
Strong project management and clinical redesign capability.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
Commitment to culturally safe, inclusive and family-centred practice.
A collaborative leadership style focused on achieving sustainable system improvements.
