Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Mine Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance of our mobile mining fleet and ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of mining equipment.
This leadership role is responsible for the overall management of Mine Maintenance, including safety, maintenance execution, workforce leadership, budgeting, planning, asset reliability, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other departments to maximize equipment availability while supporting Rosebel's production and business objectives.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Develop and implement the overall maintenance strategy to maximize equipment availability, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Lead and promote a strong safety culture by establishing departmental safety objectives, training programs, and compliance initiatives.

Manage all maintenance activities for the mobile mining fleet, ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

Prepare, manage, and monitor the annual maintenance operating budget and optimize maintenance costs.

Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities for General Foremen, Supervisors, and maintenance personnel.

Support workforce planning, including recruitment, succession planning, training, performance management, and employee development.

Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including leave management, performance improvement, disciplinary processes, and training requirements.

Collaborate with senior management to develop short-, medium-, and long-term maintenance strategies aligned with the mine plan and business objectives.

Recommend equipment replacement, fleet upgrades, capital projects, and maintenance improvement initiatives.

Monitor equipment performance and implement reliability-centered maintenance practices and continuous improvement programs.

Establish, monitor, and report on key maintenance performance indicators (KPIs), including equipment availability, reliability, maintenance costs, and productivity.

Ensure maintenance programs, policies, procedures, and work practices comply with Company standards, applicable legislation, and industry best practices.

Lead regular safety meetings and foster a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.

At least 10 years of experience in heavy mobile equipment maintenance within an open-pit mining environment., including a minimum of 5 years in a General Foreman or Superintendent role (15 years if holding a trade certification only).

Demonstrated experience managing large maintenance teams, budgets, and operational improvement initiatives.

Experience with maintenance planning systems, fleet management systems, and asset management best practices.

Extensive knowledge of heavy mining equipment maintenance and reliability principles.

Strong understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling, budgeting, and asset lifecycle management.

Proven leadership, coaching, and people management skills.

Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities.

Strong financial and business acumen with experience managing operational budgets.

Experience implementing continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Microsoft Office, and maintenance reporting tools.

Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 of work followed by 7 days break.

Good communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch and English.
