About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of material support across a complex operational environment. In this role, you will ensure inventory is positioned, requisitioned, and available to support maintenance schedules and operational demands while proactively managing supply risks and stakeholder expectations.
This is a highly visible role that requires a strong customer focus, exceptional analytical capability, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple functional teams to keep critical programs running on schedule.
This position is based in Henderson, Western Australia. Reporting to the Head of Inventory, you will be responsible for leading inventory operations across current maintenance and sustainment activities, ensuring materials are delivered in the right configuration, at the right time, and in the right place.
Responsibilities
- Managing inventory levels to maximise service delivery while optimising costs.
- Reviewing and releasing requisitions to procurement and ensuring lead times are achieved.
- Monitoring operational demand, inventory performance, and system health indicators.
- Leading and developing a high-performing team of inventory professionals.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
- Identifying and mitigating supply chain risks before they impact operational schedules.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory performance and efficiency.
- Collaborating across Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Delivery, and external partners to achieve operational outcomes.
About you
To be successful, you will bring:
- A degree qualification in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in inventory management within Defence, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, heavy industry, or a similar complex environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory planning, materials management, and supply chain systems.
- Experience using ERP and inventory management systems, including materials requirements planning and inventory optimisation tools.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into operational outcomes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong customer engagement skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven experience working across functional teams to influence outcomes and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
