The brief, honestly
We're a hair transplant clinic in Malvern. We do good work and almost nobody sees it, because our patients — understandably — don't want to be on camera.
So here's the job: make our clinic interesting on social media without ever filming a patient.
No before-and-afters. No patient testimonials. No reaction videos of someone seeing their new hairline. Those are off the table permanently, for both privacy and regulatory reasons, and if that sounds like most of your ideas gone, this probably isn't the role for you.
If it sounds like a puzzle worth solving, keep reading.
The arrangement
This is an ongoing freelance contract, not a job. You'll invoice us weekly and you'll need an ABN.
- 6 short-form videos per week, shot and edited, delivered as finished files
- On site in Malvern once a week for around two hours to film
- Everything else on your own time, wherever you like
- $500 per week, paid on invoice
Be realistic about what that adds up to. The filming is quick — a well-planned session banks raw material for the whole week. The editing, planning and research is where the time goes. Expect somewhere around 8–9 hours a week all up.
You deliver finished files. We handle posting through our agency, so you're not managing accounts, captions or comments.
After three months we'll review. If it's working for both of us, there's a defined step up to 10 videos a week at $750.
What you'd actually do
Come in and shoot fast, unscripted, low-fuss. Catching the surgeon on the way out of theatre for ninety seconds and getting something usable out of it. Grabbing the team mid-conversation. Finding the shot in a room full of microscopes and instruments.
Between visits:
- Plan what's worth filming next week, and arrive with that plan rather than waiting to be handed one
- Research what's actually landing in hair loss, men's health and cosmetic medicine right now — the formats, the questions people ask, the trends worth borrowing
- Edit quickly and to a consistent look
- Deliver on schedule, every week
We're aiming for short, sharp and frequent. Not cinematic.
What we're not looking for
Not a videographer. Not a film school graduate. Not someone who needs a lighting setup, a shot list and three days in post.
We need someone who can walk in, read the room, get the shot, and turn it around fast. If your instinct on being handed a camera is to plan a production, we'll frustrate each other.
Who this suits
- You live in short-form video and can tell us what's working on it this week without having to look it up
- You shoot and edit confidently on a phone — CapCut, InShot, whatever you like
- You generate ideas rather than wait for them
- You're curious enough to get genuinely interested in a medical field you've probably never thought about
- You're reliable about delivery, because the schedule only works if the files arrive
- You're comfortable around a clinical environment and understand that discretion matters here more than it does in most workplaces
Formal qualifications are irrelevant to us. What you've made is not.
This is a steady, ongoing contract with light hours — it sits well alongside study, a job, or other freelance clients.
Practical details
- Equipment: you shoot and edit on your own gear. We'll cover any subscriptions we specifically ask you to use.
- Ownership: content produced for the clinic belongs to the clinic.
- You'll need: an ABN, and your own insurance if you carry it.
- Start: 14/9/26
To apply
Two things, and please don't skip the second:
- A link to something you've made. Anything — client work, your own account, a video you shot for fun. One or two examples is plenty. We care more about whether it holds attention than how polished it is.
- One idea for us. In a few sentences: pitch a single short-form video for a hair transplant clinic that doesn't show a patient's face, doesn't feature a testimonial, and would make someone stop scrolling.
The second one is the actual test. A good answer will get you an interview regardless of what your CV looks like.
