Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive thinking Warehouse Inventory Manager to take ownership of stock accuracy, warehouse organisation, and inventory optimisation within our distribution operation.
This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring stock is accurately maintained, efficiently stored, and readily accessible across both pick-face and bulk storage locations. The successful candidate will focus on inventory accuracy, stock location management, cycle counting, inbound stock processing, and continuous improvement of warehouse storage practices to support operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock locations within the ERP and warehouse management systems.
- Manage and optimise stock placement across pick-face and bulk storage areas to maximise warehouse efficiency.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, stocktakes, and inventory audits to ensure high levels of inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, stock variances, and location issues.
- Plan and coordinate storage requirements for new product lines and incoming inventory.
- Organise stock based on product commonality, movement frequency, and operational requirements.
- Identify and manage slow-moving, obsolete, and outlier stock items.
- Ensure all inbound stock is receipted, labelled, and put away promptly and accurately.
- Review and maintain warehouse layouts to improve space utilisation and picking efficiency.
- Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to support efficient stock movements and replenishment activities.
- Prepare inventory reports and provide recommendations for inventory and storage improvements.
- Support month-end and year-end inventory reconciliations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory control, warehouse organisation, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- 2+ years' experience in inventory control, warehousing, or stock management.
- Strong understanding of inventory control processes and warehouse operations.
- Experience conducting cycle counts, stocktakes, and inventory investigations.
- Proficiency with ERP or inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ERP systems such as MYOB Exo.
- Previous experience in a distribution, warehousing, manufacturing, or agricultural environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with inventory optimisation tools such as Netstock.
- Forklift licence (desirable but not essential).
