Sundale is seeking a passionate Lifestyle Coordinator, formally titled Recreation Coordinator, to commence as soon as possible at our Bindaree Care Centre in Boyne Island, within the Gladstone region.
This six-month fixed-term contract is an opportunity to step into a meaningful role, bring fresh ideas to life and make an immediate impact on the wellbeing and quality of life of our residents.

About the Role
As the Lifestyle Coordinator, formally titled Recreation Coordinator, you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of meaningful lifestyle and therapeutic recreation programs.
Working closely with residents, families, care teams, volunteers and external providers, you will develop engaging, person-centred programs that reflect residents’ individual interests, abilities, backgrounds and goals.
Your programs will support residents’ physical, emotional, social and cognitive wellbeing while encouraging independence, connection and quality of life.
What You’ll Do
In this varied and rewarding role, you will:
- Conduct assessments to understand residents’ interests, needs, preferences and abilities
- Develop and deliver engaging individual and group lifestyle programs
- Create meaningful opportunities for social connection, community participation and enjoyment
- Monitor and evaluate residents’ participation and progress
- Adapt lifestyle programs in response to residents’ changing needs and feedback
- Coordinate activities, events and community engagement initiatives
- Work collaboratively with care teams, volunteers, families and external providers
- Maintain accurate documentation in line with organisational and regulatory requirements
- Promote a positive, inclusive and resident-focused environment
- Bring fresh ideas and creativity to Bindaree’s lifestyle and recreation program
What You’ll Bring
You will be an enthusiastic, creative and organised professional who enjoys building relationships and creating meaningful experiences for older people.
You will ideally hold one of the following:
- Bachelor of Health Science in Leisure and Health or Therapeutic Recreation
- Diploma or Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or a related field
- An equivalent qualification or relevant experience
You will also bring:
- Experience in aged care lifestyle programs or therapeutic recreation
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organisation and program development capabilities
- Creativity and confidence in developing engaging activities
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- A genuine commitment to person-centred care and resident wellbeing
- Availability to commence as soon as possible
The successful applicant will also be required to complete:
- A National Police Check
- A pre-employment medical assessment
