Primary objective
Lead a small team of ICT professionals to ensure that Information & Communication Technology (ICT) services are delivered effectively
to meet NT Government Agencies business requirements.
Context statement
ICT services are delivered to client agencies under a centralised services model across a geographically and culturally diverse
environment. The Technology Services unit provides a range of ICT support services to enhance agencies’ effective operation of digital
environments, ensuring alignment of ICT strategy in accordance with whole of Government policies and standards.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Work proactively and collaboratively with client agencies to assist with the identification of service delivery gaps and the development
of solutions to address these.
2. Work cross functionally to support effective ICT service management and /or address complex ICT service issues.
3. As a functional or subject matter expert develop and maintain effective partnerships with client agency decision makers and managers
to gain a detailed understanding of their ICT needs and ensure compliance with ICT policies and delegations.
4. Lead or contribute to strategic ICT projects that support consistent ICT delivery across the NTPS.
5. Work with whole of government outsourced ICT service providers, DCDD and client agency staff in the planning and implementation
of ICT infrastructure and business application systems for client agencies and monitor service delivery against agreed service levels
6. Manage the day-to-day activities of a small team to effectively deliver ICT Services.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Well-developed experience in building and sustaining relationships in a customer-focused outsourced environment, and the ability to
anticipate changing needs and expectations of clients.
2. Extensive experience and knowledge of contemporary strategic ICT management and experience managing complex ICT delivery
issues.
3. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and manage a small team in a multi-skilled, flexible client focussed centralised
ICT service.
4. High level communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to establish collaborative relationships at all levels
and across diverse cultures to positively influence ICT practices.
5. Well-developed knowledge and experience relating to the methodology, systems and procedures across the broad spectrum of ICT
disciplines including ICT service delivery functions, ICT project management, security related issues, platforms, networks, systems
and system administration in established information technology environments.
6. Knowledge of and experience in the specification, selection and assessment of quality ICT services that meet business objectives.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, innovative and
respectful.
Desirable
1. Qualifications and/or certifications relevant to ICT or a related field.
