Working within the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) program at Fairfield Hospital, you will deliver true continuity of care to women across pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period. As part of this established and highly regarded model, you will be allocated an annual caseload of women and supported by a dedicated team of midwifery colleagues, providing 24-hour care within a structured on-call roster. This is a maternity leave cover, which is a perfect opportunity to experience care within an MGP model.
This autonomous and professionally rewarding role enables you to manage your own workload and time while building meaningful, beneficial relationships with the women in your care. You will lead and coordinate comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal midwifery services, undertaking assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care. Your practice will promote collaborative, equitable and woman-centred care, empowering women to achieve their individual pregnancy and birth goals.
Focused on each woman’s unique needs, expectations, and aspirations, you will practice at an advanced midwifery level to deliver exceptional clinical outcomes for women and their families. You will be supported within a dynamic tertiary environment by a Clinical Midwife Consultant and the Midwifery Unit Manager –Models of Care, and benefit from strong collaboration across South Western Sydney Local Health District.
