SALLAD is now HIRING! – Senior Cook / Cook
Hi everyone,
We're a new family-owned salad bar opening in Condell Park- NSW, and we're looking for an experienced Senior Cook / Cook to join us on this exciting journey from the very beginning.
This is much more than just a cooking role. We're looking for someone who is organized, reliable and passionate about running a well-structured kitchen. We want someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a team, and is looking for a long-term opportunity to grow with the business.
The role will include:
- Completing daily kitchen prep and ensuring the kitchen is ready for service
- Preparing proteins, grains, fresh salads and other ingredients to recipe specifications
- Confidently operating a commercial combi oven, grill, fryer, robot coupe and other kitchen equipment
- Following recipes and portion guides to maintain consistency and quality
- Managing stock levels, ordering and ensuring correct stock rotation (FIFO)
- Maintaining high food safety standards, including labelling, date coding and storage
- Keeping the kitchen clean, organized and running efficiently throughout the day
- Monitoring prep levels and planning ahead for busy service periods
- Supporting, training and working alongside other kitchen team members
- Working closely with management to continuously improve kitchen operations and maintain high standards
The ideal person will have experience with:
- Daily kitchen prep and service
- Using a commercial combi oven, grill and fryer, robot coupe
- Stock control, ordering and stock rotation (FIFO)
- Food safety, labelling and organization
- Managing prep levels to ensure the kitchen is always ready for service
- Leading a small team and maintaining a positive kitchen culture
- Working efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
- Following recipes and maintaining consistent food quality
Experience in cafés, salad bars, healthy food concepts, poke bowl venues or other high-volume kitchens is a must.
