Sport Star Academy is expanding into Melbourne’s south-east and looking for passionate, energetic and enthusiastic Badminton Coaches to join our growing team.
We are launching structured badminton programs for school-aged children, providing an opportunity for children to learn, develop and enjoy badminton in a fun, supportive and progressive environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to join SSA at the beginning of our Victorian growth journey and play an important role in establishing our badminton programs across the local community.

Key responsibilities
- Deliver fun, engaging and structured badminton sessions for children
- Teach fundamentals including grip, footwork, movement and strokes
- Introduce children to basic game play and match skills
- Develop participants progressively according to age and ability
- Create a positive, inclusive and encouraging environment
- Build confidence, coordination, fitness and sporting skills
- Encourage children to develop a genuine love of badminton
- Follow SSA coaching programs and session plans
- Communicate professionally with students, parents and SSA
- Provide feedback on student development
- Represent SSA professionally at partner schools and venues
Requirements
- Genuine passion for badminton and working with children
- Previous badminton coaching, playing or sports instruction experience desirable
- 2+ years' coaching experience preferred, but not essential
- Badminton coaching qualification preferred but not essential
- Competitive playing experience highly regarded
- Experience working with children desirable
- Valid WWCC or willingness to obtain
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a growing coaching team
- Weekday after-school availability, typically 3:00pm–5:30pm
- Saturday morning/afternoon availability highly desirable
- Reliable transport preferred
