Part-time Retail Assistant – Discount Variety Store
We are looking for a reliable and friendly Part-time Retail Assistant to join our discount variety store.
The role involves routine retail duties performed under the direction of the store manager.
Main duties include:
- Serving customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operating the POS and EFTPOS system according to store procedures
- Scanning all items correctly through the POS
- Assisting with refunds, exchanges, voids, and staff purchases according to store procedures
- Restocking shelves and keeping products tidy
- Helping maintain clean and safe store presentation
- Following opening and closing checklists as directed
- Checking POS, EFTPOS, store condition, and cash float as part of paid working time
- Reporting any issue, mistake, cash difference, or safety concern to the manager immediately
- Following store procedures for cash handling, stock handling, customer service, and loss prevention
- Assisting with balloons, gift items, stationery, craft, party, and general variety products when required
We are looking for someone who:
- Is reliable, honest, and punctual
- Can follow clear procedures and instructions
- Has good attention to detail
- Is comfortable serving customers
- Can work independently on routine tasks after training
- Is available for part-time shifts, including weekdays and weekends when required
- Has previous retail experience preferred, but not essential
Pay: $24.95 – $39.00 per hour
