Chef Duties
The chef runs the kitchen and sets the standard for everything that goes out.
Core responsibilities:
Menu & recipes: Create dishes, cost them out, update the menu seasonally, and make sure recipes are consistent.
Food quality: Check all plates before they go out. Taste, plate, and maintain standards for taste, temp, and presentation.
Inventory & ordering: Manage stock, order ingredients, control food costs, reduce waste, and work with suppliers.
Safety & compliance: Enforce food safety, hygiene, HACCP rules, and workplace safety. Make sure everyone follows procedures.
Service coordination: Lead service, communicate with front-of-house, handle VIP orders, and troubleshoot when things go wrong.
Budget & admin: Track labor costs, food costs, and meet profit targets set by the owner.
It’s less cooking all day, more making sure the whole team cooks right.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $32.00 – $35.00 per hour
