Annual salary: $76,712 per annum plus super, increasing to $87,670 per annum plus super after six months (subject to satisfactory performance)

About this position
The Waste Services team has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and safety-focused individual to join the City. In this role, you will operate waste collection vehicles and help deliver essential services that keep the community clean and running smoothly.
Previous waste collection experience is desired but not essential. If you hold a current HR driver's licence and demonstrated experience operating heavy vehicles, the City will provide comprehensive training in waste collection operations. Working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, you will contribute to delivering a reliable and professional service to the community.
What we are looking for
To be successful, you will need to be able to demonstrate:

A commitment to workplace health and safety

Experience in the safe operation and basic maintenance of heavy vehicles (waste collection experience is desirable but not essential)

The ability and willingness to learn waste collection systems, equipment and safe operating procedures through structured training

A reliable and self‑motivated approach, with the ability to perform routine tasks consistently and safely

The ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workload priorities to meet required timeframes
Essential requirements

Current Police Clearance (no more than three months old) Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.
