Senior Support Worker – Hub
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our team full-time. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about creating engaging group environments, supporting participants, and leading by example within a hub setting.
Position Details
- Position Title: Senior Support Worker – Hub
- Reporting To: Senior People Engagement Officer (PEO)
- Employment Type: Full Time
- Hours: 38 hours per week
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
About the Role
The Senior Support Worker – Hub is responsible for facilitating and supporting daily group activities within the hub environment while ensuring operations run smoothly and professionally. This role includes mentoring support workers, maintaining activity standards, and contributing to a positive and engaging atmosphere for participants.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage activity calendar content
- Send daily photos and updates to the VA team
- Set up and pack down daily hub activities
- Facilitate specialised event days and coordinate hub decorations
- Oversee hub spending, shopping, receipts, and budgeting
- Support and guide hub/group support workers
- Monitor and ensure progress notes are completed correctly and on time
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Previous experience working as a Support Worker
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles to different participant needs
- Excellent teamwork and leadership capability
- Ability to problem solve effectively within a group environment
- Professional conduct with the ability to redirect inappropriate conversations and avoid workplace gossip
Desirable
- Experience with social media and marketing
- Leadership experience within disability or community services
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certificate III in Disability (or equivalent)
- Relevant employment screening cards and clearances
