Due to continued growth across our Northwest Tasmania business, we are seeking an experienced HVAC Assistant Team Leader (ATL) to join our Devonport team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician looking to take the next step in their career. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in leading our technical team, supporting business growth and developing your leadership skills. For the right candidate, this position offers a genuine pathway into a full time Account Management role, with opportunities to take on greater commercial responsibility as the business continues to expand.
The Role:
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and day-to-day support to a team of HVAC Technicians.
- Carry out service, maintenance, fault finding, repairs and installation works.
- Prepare quotations for repair and project works.
- Review completed works and ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
- Assist with scheduling, work planning and resource allocation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, identifying opportunities to improve service delivery and grow existing accounts.
- Conduct site inspections and assist in identifying additional maintenance and project opportunities.
- Work closely with the Regional Manager on higher-level operational duties, reporting and business improvement initiatives.
- Oversee jobs from initial inspection through to completion while maintaining a high standard of quality and safety.
- Work independently while providing leadership and technical guidance to the wider team.
Selection Criteria:
- Trade Qualification in Certificate lll in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
- 5+ years’ experience as a HVAC technician
- Current Drivers Licence
- Refrigerant Handling licence
- Restricted Electrical licence
- OHS Construction Induction Card
- A focus on quality and safety
- Ability to work within a team or autonomously.
- Strong communications skills – interact positively with colleagues and customers alike.
- Previous experience in quoting and estimating HVAC works (desirable).
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities for business growth.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, or a strong desire to progress into a leadership position.
- Excellent organisational, communication and customer relationship management skills.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with service management software (desirable).
