About the role
The Gyprock Trade Centre Store Manager is a full-time position based at our new Direk, SA Trade Centre, reporting to the Area Manager.
We are seeking a candidate with proven supervisory experience, a strong commitment to safety, and excellent communication and computer skills. A current forklift licence and relevant operational experience are essential. An MR licence is highly regarded, or the willingness to obtain one. Previous management experience within a retail, trade centre, or similar customer-focused environment will be highly regarded.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, between 6:30am and 4:00pm.
In this role you will get involved in the below:
- Safety: Champion safety compliance and ensure the wellbeing of the team, customers, and the public. Conduct regular site safety walks to maintain a safe operating environment.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise employees to ensure they deliver excellent customer service and perform their duties effectively.
- Sales and Marketing: Oversee sales activities, promote the store and its products, support marketing campaigns to drive traffic and increase sales, and develop new accounts. Use analytical tools to make informed business decisions.
- Financial Management: Monitor the store's P&L performance and make decisions to improve profitability.
- Compliance: Ensure the store complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Customer Deliveries: Coordinate and support customer deliveries as required.
About You
- You take pride in providing excellent customer service and building trusted relationships.
- Comfortable using retail systems (experience will be highly regarded).
- Holding a forklift licence would be advantageous.
- Ideally have a retail or trade background.
- Have proven experience leading or supervising a team.
- Understand Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and transport regulations.
- A true team player who enjoys working collaboratively.
- Always willing to lend a hand and support others.
