Nestled within the grounds of the Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital in Katoomba, the 15 bed Blue Mountains Mental Health Unit (BMMHU) offers compassionate, trauma informed, and recovery focused psychiatric care. The team delivers flexible and innovative models of support designed to meet the complex needs of adults living with mental illness, helping prevent relapse, strengthen independence, and enhance community participation. With a strong commitment to collaboration, the BMMHU works closely with individuals, their families, and carers to create a safe, empowering environment where recovery can truly take shape.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the timely escalation of care, delivering evidence-based mental health nursing practice, and contributing to the planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation of consumer care. Working collaboratively with a range of healthcare professionals, you will support positive consumer outcomes through recovery-oriented and person-centered care.
As a strong advocate for consumers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, you will be committed to providing equitable, respectful and inclusive care that recognises and responds to individual needs. You will demonstrate excellent clinical judgement, a commitment to best-practice mental health nursing, and a passion for supporting consumers throughout their recovery journey.
