POSITION PURPOSE
The Director – Human Development, Research and Scientific Integration will provide leadership in the development of multidisciplinary research initiatives, educational programs, strategic partnerships and evidence-informed human development frameworks.
The position will play a key role in establishing collaborations with universities, research institutions, government agencies, funding bodies and professional organisations both within Australia and internationally.
The successful applicant will contribute to the development of innovative approaches integrating research, education, human development, wellbeing sciences, contemplative traditions and scientific inquiry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Leadership
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives supporting SOMA Wellness Sciences.
- Contribute to organisational planning, innovation and growth.
- Develop strategic partnerships supporting research, education and community objectives.
- Provide advice regarding emerging developments in human development, wellbeing and scientific innovation.
Research Development
- Lead and support multidisciplinary research initiatives.
- Develop collaborative research partnerships.
- Assist with publication development, research dissemination and knowledge translation.
- Support evaluation frameworks and evidence-informed program development.
- Identify opportunities for research funding and grants.
University and Academic Partnerships
- Establish and maintain relationships with universities and research institutions.
- Facilitate collaborative projects involving researchers, academics and postgraduate students.
- Support development of research placements, internships and academic partnerships.
- Promote collaboration between educational institutions and community stakeholders.
Government and Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with government departments, policy bodies and funding organisations.
- Participate in consultations relating to education, wellbeing, research and community development.
- Develop collaborative relationships with public and private sector stakeholders.
- Support strategic initiatives advancing social impact and community participation.
Human Development and Scientific Integration
- Support development of evidence-informed approaches to human development and wellbeing.
- Assist in integrating contemporary research with multidisciplinary educational frameworks.
- Promote responsible and ethical approaches to research, education and innovation.
- Contribute to initiatives supporting resilience, wellbeing, learning and human potential.
Education and Program Development
- Assist with development of educational frameworks and training programs.
- Contribute to curriculum development and professional learning initiatives.
- Support production of educational resources, publications and professional materials.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Doctoral qualification (PhD) or equivalent advanced professional and research experience.
- Demonstrated experience in research, education, policy development, strategic planning or multidisciplinary program development.
- Experience engaging with universities, researchers, academic institutions or professional bodies.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and organisational capability.
- High-level report writing, publication and presentation skills.
