As a Salesforce Education Functional Consultant, you will own the delivery of end-to-end Salesforce solutions, from planning and
discovery through to design, delivery, training, and handover. This is a highly client-facing role where you will lead solution teams to
achieve successful business outcomes, supported by Solution Architects, Consultants, and Developers.
You will work closely with the Project Managers to develop delivery plans, manage client communication and collaboration, identify
and mitigate project risks, and ensure solutions are delivered on time, to scope, and within budget.
As part of the Education Practice, you will work with a diverse range of clients, including Higher Education providers, training
organisations, K–12 schools, membership associations, and other for-purpose organisations. The Education Practice primarily delivers
solutions on the Salesforce platform, with a particular focus on Salesforce Education Cloud.
You will also contribute to the growth and capability of the practice through thought leadership, mentoring, development of reusable
assets and solution accelerators, and participation in broader operational activities.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver end-to-end Salesforce solutions encompassing discovery, planning, business analysis, solution design, development, testing, training, deployment, and handover.
- Lead solution teams through the full delivery lifecycle, ensuring solutions align with client requirements, strategic objectives, and organisational goals.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to develop delivery plans, manage client communications, monitor project risks, and maintain delivery within scope and budget.
- Conduct business analysis and requirements gathering, translating business needs into practical and scalable Salesforce solutions.
- Develop estimate, and document functional and technical solution designs, processes, user stories, architecture diagrams, and related project documentation.
- Facilitate client discovery sessions, workshops, showcases, demonstrations, and training.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, leveraging the broader team's expertise to identify and recommend optimal solutions.
- Support solution estimation, planning, prioritisation, and delivery across multiple projects as required.
- Provide operational support and expertise to the Managed Services team when required.
- Apply appropriate software development and delivery methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall approaches.
- Contribute to data migration planning and activities, ensuring appropriate consideration of data quality, mapping, transformation, and migration requirements.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to other members of the project and solution teams.
- Contribute to practice growth through thought leadership, development of solution accelerators and reusable assets, and participation in recruitment, onboarding, training, enablement, and other operational activities.
- Promote high standards of delivery, collaboration, documentation, and client service across the practice.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years' experience delivering Salesforce-based solutions or leading comparable software solutions.
- Experience delivering solutions within one or more of the following areas:
o Education, membership, or association management systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, iMIS, Civica, Paradigm, ReadyTech).
o Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle, Canvas, Brightspace).
o CRM and fundraising platforms (e.g. Raiser's Edge, Blackbaud CRM, Microsoft Dynamics)
o Marketing platforms (e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Ortto).
o Integration platforms and technologies (e.g. MuleSoft, Workato, Zapier, Make.com, Omatic).
o K-12 Student Information Systems.
- Proven track record of estimating, planning, designing, and delivering end-to-end technology solutions.
- Experience acting as the solution lead on at least two full lifecycle implementations.
- Demonstrated understanding of software development and delivery methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Knowledge and practical understanding of data migration practices.
- Experience working with Salesforce solutions, preferably including Salesforce Education Cloud and/or Education Data Architecture (EDA).
- One or more current Salesforce certifications, such as Salesforce Administrator, Platform Developer, Education Cloud, or other relevant Salesforce certifications.
- Must be based in Australia and hold a valid permit to work on a permanent basis.
