About Us
Polymetals (ASX: POL) acquired the Endeavor Mine in 2023 and formally took control in August 2024. Endeavor is a major underground silver/lead/zinc mine, located 40km north-west of Cobar in Central-West NSW. Since then, Polymetals has delivered an initial 10-year mine plan, secured a US $20million (A$30million) loan facility, have restarted mining operations in early 2025 and begun 24/7 concentrate production. It’s an exciting time for Endeavor and the Cobar region, with significant employment opportunities now coming to market for the Endeavor Mine restart: one of Australia’s major base metals mines.
The Role
In this Senior Plant Metallurgist role, you will be involved in providing technical governance and leadership to the processing team. Reporting to the Processing Manager, your key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
- Develop systems to ensure that ore recovery is maximised at all stages of processing
- Lead and mentor metallurgists and processing staff, ensuring production and metallurgical targets are achieved
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure that equipment performance is optimised
- Oversee daily technical results and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Manage and implement plant improvement projects
- Work closely with mining and geology departments to ensure optimal plant performance is prepared with new ore zones being mined
- Manage the site laboratory and a team of Laboratory and Metallurgical Technicians
- Oversee metallurgical test work both on and off site as required
- Monitor concentrate production and rail shipments
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in metallurgy, process engineering or related discipline
- Ideally 8+ years’ experience as a Senior Plant Metallurgist in hydrometallurgical plants
- Exposure to OSA operating systems
- Competent in flotation plant operations
- RSO ticket would be an advantage
- Exposure across all facets of ore processing facilities
- Proven experience in metallurgical accounting

- DIDO within NSW with travel allowance, accommodation and meal allowance provided
