About The Role
Based in our Hawthorn East office, this is a great opportunity for an Estimator to join a high-performing team delivering consistent, accurate and competitive tenders across a diverse project portfolio. You’ll play a key role in preparing detailed estimates, supporting bid strategy and contributing to continuous improvement across estimating practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare detailed first-principles estimates across direct, indirect and preliminary costs
- Review tender documentation to complete accurate quantity take-offs
- Develop practical pricing based on construction methodology and staging
- Source and analyse subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Identify risks, opportunities, assumptions and scope gaps within tenders
- Support tender submissions, including clarifications and documentation
- Maintain and improve cost databases and estimating inputs
- Contribute to improved workflows, including adoption of AI-enabled tools
About You
You will be a proactive estimator with strong attention to detail, a collaborative mindset and the desire to continue growing your capability within a high‑performing team.
We are seeking someone who:
- Has 3+ years’ estimating experience in civil construction
- Holds a Civil Engineering degree (advantageous)
- Brings practical site-based experience to inform pricing decisions
- Communicates clearly and works effectively within a team
- Understands the relationship between scope, risk and pricing
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines
- Is proactive, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement
- Is comfortable leveraging digital and AI-enabled tools to enhance outcomes
