Based in Chatswood, you will play a vital role as both a hands-on Maintenance Officer and our facility Chief Fire Warden. You will be responsible for overall improvement and maintenance of the facility to deliver positive outcomes for residents.

What You'll Do
- Maintain a safe, and homely environment for our residents by keeping our facility, grounds, and resident rooms in top shape through proactive inspections and timely repairs.
- Lead Emergency Preparedness by acting as Chief Fire Warden by coordinating fire drills, maintaining safety equipment, and keeping emergency plans up to date.
- Solve Daily Technical needs by completing hands-on work across minor plumbing, basic electrical tasks, carpentry, patching, and painting.
- Manage external contractors Partners: Coordinate specialized contractors (HVAC, lifts, major works) to ensure jobs are completed safely and smoothly.
- Proactively report maintenance issues to Facility Manager, and maintain up-to-date records of all maintenance activities.
- Manage and monitor maintenance budget allocations in consultation with management.
- Champion compliance by ensuring external contractors provide the required licences, insurances and compliance documentation before commencing work.
- Uphold safety standards by ensuring all work aligns with Work Health & Safety (WHS) regulations and Aged Care Quality Standards.
What You Bring
- Hands-on trade experience and proven background in facility maintenance or a handyperson role, backed by a relevant trade qualification.
- Strong competency across minor plumbing, basic electrical tasks, carpentry, patching, and painting.
- Solid understanding of WHS legislation and Aged Care Quality Standards (especially Standard 5: Service Environment).
- A genuine passion for supporting seniors, combined with excellent communication skills to build rapport with residents and families.
- Licences & Clearances:
- Valid unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence.
- Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (or Aged Care Worker Screening).
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- NSW Chief Fire Warden certification (or willingness to obtain).
