Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fifth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing, transport and health care. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.
Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 69,000 and is culturally rich with 17.4% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.
Early Childhood Teacher
Hourly Rate: $34.02 to $58.96 (rate dependent on level of experience & validation level)

Greater Shepparton City Council’s Children’s Services is excited to offer an opportunity for a passionate Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our welcoming team at Mooroopna Children & Families Centre.
In 2026, this role is based in our 3 year old kindergarten room, working alongside an established and supportive team of dedicated educators. Our service delivers both 3 and 4 year old kindergarten programs, providing a rich and engaging learning environment for children and families.

In addition, the service is co located with Our Place, an innovative initiative of the Colman Education Foundation, offering valuable opportunities for collaboration and community connection.

Applicants must hold the following current qualifications and certificates:
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent recognised by ACECQA)
- Current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
- Current CPR – HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Criminal History Check (valid within six months).
- Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
- Current Foundations of Child Safety Training Course 1 & 2
- Protecting Children – Mandatory reporting and other obligations early childhood

Note: This position is subject to a 6 month qualifying period in accordance with the Fair Work Australia minimum employment period.
