If you’ve built your foundation in a Tier 2 environment and you’re ready to bring that hands‑on experience into a Tier 1 business — where the scale is bigger, the work is more complex, and your commercial instincts actually matter — this is your chance.
We’re looking for a Contracts Administrator with at least 3+ years of real, practical experience managing upstream/downstream contracts, claims, departures, and payment processes. Someone who knows the rhythm of contract administration and is ready to step confidently into a fast‑moving, high‑performing team.
You’ll work closely with our Fleet Manager, our operational teams, and our commercial specialists, supporting our Through Life Support (TLS) contracts — one of the most exciting and rapidly growing areas of the Downer business.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Administering upstream contracts with accuracy and confidence
- Managing contract notices, variations, and time‑related impacts
- Handling departures, claims, and payment processes end‑to‑end
- Identifying risks and opportunities early — and acting on them
- Supporting progress claims, forecasting, and financial/project reporting
Working onsite with operational teams to keep delivery on track
-
This is a 12‑month full‑time fixed‑term role, based onsite at our Auburn, NSW depot — right where the action happens.
What You'll Bring:
- 3+ years’ experience in contract administration within construction, infrastructure, maintenance, or a similar environment
- Strong exposure to Tier 2 upstream/downstream contracts, claims, departures, and payment processes
- A tertiary qualification in Construction, QS, Business Management or similar (highly regarded)
- Confidence in negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder engagement
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast‑paced environment
- A solid understanding of commercial management principles and project controls
Bonus points if you’ve worked with tools like TeamBinder, Maximo or SAP.
