Sands Fridge Lines is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll/ Accounts Officer to join our team in Forrestfield. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role is ideal for someone who can confidently manage payroll processes end-to-end while assisting the accountants in the daily transactional work.
In this position, you will take ownership of delivering accurate and timely payroll for weekly and fortnightly employees. You’ll collaborate closely with Finance, HR, and operational teams, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and exceptional service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll
-
Process end-to-end payroll for 200–250 employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to applicable awards, enterprise agreements, and allowances

Maintain compliance with Australian payroll legislation, awards, and statutory requirements

Manage payroll queries, investigations, adjustments, terminations, and back pays

Support month-end and statutory reporting, including:
- PAYG

Superannuation
-
Payroll Tax
-
Child Support
- Produce payroll and headcount reports for business units

Monitor and maintain accurate leave entitlements

Provide administrative and accounting support to the Finance team

Stay up to date with industrial relations changes affecting payroll processes

Work collaboratively with HR to ensure contractual and compliance obligations are met

Assist with year-end reconciliations and reporting
Accounts
- Processing credit card payments
- Invoice preparation for rent
- Payment selection for supplier payments

About You

Proven experience in a high-volume payroll environment

Strong background in accounting
-
Strong knowledge of Australian awards, enterprise agreements, and payroll legislation

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Proactive problem solver who takes ownership of outcomes

Confident communicator, able to escalate and manage issues effectively
Skills & Experience
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll processing

Hold a qualification in accounting

Experience with Sage and UKG systems (highly regarded)

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word

Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
