Venue Manager - Godby Hotel
Salary: $110k plus superannuation
Godby Hotel is looking for an experienced and energetic Venue Manager to lead one of Melbourne’s most exciting pubs.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced venue, leads confidently from the front and knows how to create an exceptional experience for both guests and staff.
You will be responsible for the venue's day-to-day performance, building a strong team culture and maintaining consistently high standards across service, food, drinks, presentation and atmosphere.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, training and developing the venue team
- Overseeing daily operations and service standards
- Managing rosters, labour costs and venue profitability
- Maintaining strong product, presentation and compliance standards
- Driving sales and improving the overall guest experience
- Creating a positive, accountable and high-performing workplace
- Maintaining a visible leadership presence during peak services
- Continuously identifying opportunities to improve venue performance
You will set the standard for how our team welcomes guests, handles challenges and builds lasting relationships with the local community.
We are looking for a confident and experienced hospitality leader with:
- Previous experience managing a busy pub, bar or hospitality venue
- Strong financial, rostering and labour-management skills
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities
- A hands-on approach and willingness to lead from the floor
- Sound judgement and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Genuine pride in creating memorable guest experiences
- Availability across evenings, weekends and key public holidays
You will work closely with Tony Pantano (COO – FOH) and Ben Sherriff (Operations Manager), with ongoing support from the wider Only Hospitality Group.
