About the Role
The Straddie Hotel is looking for a capable, friendly and organised Receptionist & Administration Assistant to join our team in Point Lookout.
This is primarily a reception and guest services role, supporting our hotel accommodation operations and providing general administrative support across the broader venue.
We are ideally looking for someone interested in a full-time position, however we are flexible and open to discussing part-time or casual arrangements with the right person. If you have strong availability and the right experience, we would still like to hear from you.
As one of the first points of contact for our guests, you will play an important role in ensuring accommodation enquiries, bookings, check-ins and guest communications are handled professionally and efficiently. You will also assist with general administration and operational coordination across the hotel.
This role suits someone who is confident speaking with guests, comfortable using technology and booking systems, and genuinely enjoys keeping things organised.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to accommodation enquiries by phone and email
- Manage new and existing hotel and apartment reservations
- Process booking payments, confirmations, extensions, changes and cancellations
- Assist with guest check-ins, check-outs and general enquiries
- Maintain accurate booking information within the hotel reservation system and online booking channels
- Communicate with housekeeping and other departments regarding arrivals, departures and guest requirements
- Assist with function and event enquiries and administration
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors and internal teams as required
- Process invoices, complete data entry and maintain organised records
- Assist venue management with general administrative and operational tasks
- Support other departments during busy periods where required
About You
You are friendly, reliable and organised, with the ability to communicate professionally and manage competing priorities without losing track of the details.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience in hotel reception, accommodation, reservations, administration or a similar customer-facing role
- Strong phone and email communication skills
- Confidence dealing with guests and resolving straightforward enquiries
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and cloud-based systems
- Experience using a property management or reservation system, such as REI Cloud, or the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive approach and willingness to help where needed
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a broader venue team
- A current driver's licence
Previous hospitality, accommodation, tourism or events experience is highly regarded, but reliability, communication skills and attitude are equally important.
