About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and confident Support Worker with a strong background in Supported Independent Living (SIL) and supporting participants with complex behaviours. This role is ideal for someone who remains calm under pressure, has excellent crisis management skills, and is committed to delivering safe, respectful, and person-centred support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality personal care and daily living support to participants.
- Support participants living in Supported Independent Living (SIL) environments.
- Work effectively with individuals who display complex and challenging behaviours.
- Use positive behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques to manage crisis situations safely.
- Promote participants' independence, choice, and achievement of personal goals.
- Assist with community access, appointments, and social and recreational activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and report incidents as required.
- Create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment while following NDIS standards and organisational policies.
- Work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals, and support teams.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working in Supported Independent Living (SIL).
- Experience supporting participants with complex behaviours, mental health presentations, or high-intensity support needs.
- Strong crisis management, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills.
- Minimum 6 months' experience as a Disability Support Worker.
- Current Australian Driver Licence and access to a reliable vehicle (essential).
- Valid Australian work rights.
- Current National Police Check (issued within the last 12 months) or willingness to obtain one.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain one).
