Gemstrux Consulting Engineers is seeking a motivated and experienced Remedial Structural Engineer to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of remedial engineering projects across residential, commercial, industrial, and strata properties throughout NSW.
You will be involved in all aspects of project delivery, including inspections, investigations, design, reporting, contract administration, and construction support.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake structural condition assessments and building inspections.
- Prepare remedial engineering reports, defect reports, technical specifications, and scopes of work.
- Investigate structural defects including cracking, waterproofing failures, concrete deterioration, corrosion, movement, and façade issues.
- Design remedial solutions for existing structures.
- Prepare engineering sketches, calculations, and construction documentation.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, strata managers, architects, certifiers, and councils.
- Attend construction sites and carry out progress inspections.
- Review contractor submissions, quotations, and methodologies.
- Assist with tender assessments and contract administration.
- Manage projects from initial investigation through to completion.
About You
- Minimum 3 years' experience in structural and/or remedial engineering.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards and the National Construction Code.
- Experience preparing technical reports and engineering documentation.
- Knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, timber, and remedial construction techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in engineering software and drafting tools.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
