Teralba Bees is a boutique, purpose-driven small business on a mission to connect communities with bees through hands-on, engaging education. From childcare centres to schools and community events, we create memorable learning experiences that inspire curiosity about pollination, sustainability, and the natural world.
As our hive continues to grow, we’re excited to welcome an Education Presenter to deliver face-to-face bee and environmental education sessions across Brisbane, helping children explore the fascinating world of bees and biodiversity.
About the Role
This casual, presentation-focused role is perfect for someone who loves connecting with children and inspiring curiosity about nature. You’ll deliver fun, interactive, age-appropriate educational sessions in schools, childcare centres, and community spaces.
All session content, materials, and training are provided, your role is to bring the sessions to life through energy, confidence, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 2–3 interactive bee and environmental education sessions per week in schools, childcare centres, and/or community settings
- Set up and pack down educational materials (including observation hives)
- Engage confidently with children and educators, delivering content with clarity, passion, and creativity
- Represent Teralba Bees in a professional and friendly manner at all times
- Support children’s learning by answering questions and encouraging hands-on interaction
Who You Are
- Based on the Northside of Brisbane with reliable transport
- Energetic, friendly, and confident communicating with children, educators, and families
- Comfortable working around both honey bees and native bees (training provided – no major sting allergies)
- Passionate about environmental education, biodiversity, or sustainability
- Reliable, professional, and able to follow session plans while adapting to audience needs
- Hold a current Blue Card
Highly Desirable (Not Essential)
- Knowledge of honey bees, native bees, or pollination
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly those with an interest in caring for country, cultural knowledge, or environmental education, with opportunities to contribute to and help champion our Pollination Partnership Program and continue to liaise with our current allies
- Experience delivering environmental, sustainability, or science education
- Background in education, childcare, or community engagement

Pay: $32.00 – $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3.0 – 12.0 per week
