Your impact
At Jacobs, we’re challenging today to reinvent tomorrow, and as our team continues to grow, we have an exciting opportunity for an ICT Infrastructure Designer to contribute to the delivery of complex and meaningful projects within the Defence and Federal Government Sectors. This position can be based in our Brisbane or Sydney office.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing ICT infrastructure designs across the full project lifecycle, from the early Master planning through to detailed design documentation for Construction, while also providing technical support throughout construction. Working closely with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary design teams, you will help translate user requirements into practical, implementable solutions that support the successful delivery of integrated facility designs.
You will play a key role in engaging with ICT stakeholders, refining project requirements and collaborating with engineers, architects and other technical specialists to ensure designs are coordinated, fit for purpose and aligned with Defence standards and project objectives. Success in this position will come from your ability to build strong relationships, communicate effectively and contribute to a collaborative team environment where innovation and technical excellence are valued.
We’re interested in hearing from professionals with experience in ICT infrastructure design, particularly those who have worked within Defence environments or have familiarity with Defence ICT systems. Due to the nature of the work, the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is essential.
At Jacobs, you’ll join a team that values diverse perspectives, supports professional growth and empowers people to create solutions that make a lasting impact. Together, we can deliver smarter, more connected infrastructure for our clients and communities while shaping the future of Defence projects across Australia.
Here's what you'll need
Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Information Technology or Telecommunications Engineering qualification or 10+ years relevant telecommunications infrastructure design experience
Previous experience in a similar role, preferably working with clients in Defence, Government, major construction or infrastructure projects as a consultant
Confident verbal communicator in client- facing environments, excellent written communication skills and an ability to engage successfully across broad and complex stakeholder groups
CAD and / or BIM experience preferred and will be viewed as advantageous.
For these positions, the applicant must be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (hold Australian Citizenship - http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva/)
