We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially astute Contract Administrator to manage, review, and administer contractual arrangements across projects, programmes, and services. This role is suited to a professional who can balance contractual compliance with practical business outcomes, working closely with internal stakeholders and external parties. The successful candidate will ensure contracts are accurately maintained, risks are managed, and contractual obligations are met throughout the contract lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, administer, and negotiate contracts and contractual variations in line with organisational and project requirements.
- Monitor contract compliance, deliverables, milestones, and obligations to ensure adherence to agreed terms and conditions.
- Coordinate and maintain accurate contract documentation, registers, records, and correspondence.
- Liaise with project managers, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders to support effective contract execution and issue resolution.
- Assess contractual risks, identify potential issues, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Respond to contract-related enquiries and resolve disputes or variations in a timely and professional manner.
- Support procurement and tender processes, including contract preparation, evaluation support, and post-award administration.
- Provide clear contractual advice and reporting to senior management on matters requiring attention or decision-making.
- Track variations, extensions, claims, and amendments to ensure approvals and documentation are completed correctly.
- Ensure contracts comply with organisational policies, regulatory requirements, and relevant Australian standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Construction Management, Law, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in contract administration within construction, engineering, professional services, infrastructure, or a similar environment.
- Strong understanding of contract terms, conditions, risk allocation, and variation management.
- High level of attention to detail with strong organisational and documentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to liaise with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to analyse contractual issues and apply practical, commercially sound solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract or document management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Australian standard form contracts (e.g. AS, GC21, NEC, or similar).
- Exposure to project-based or multi-contract environments.
- Formal training or certification in contract management or procurement.
- Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, or governance processes.
