The Opportunity
Reporting to the Works Supervisor - Urban, this role will predominantly work within the Parks and Gardens team and is responsible for maintaining Council’s parks, reservices, public amenities and other public spaces. Your day-to-day duties will include ride-on and push mowing, brushcutting, pruning, cleaning public amenities, emptying bins and operating an MR vehicle, small plant, battery-powered equipment and hand tools.
The ideal candidate will hold a current Class MR Driver Licence and WHS Construction Induction Card (White Card) and have demonstrated experience in parks and grounds maintenance or similar outdoor maintenance activities. Experience operating mowing equipment and small plant, and using power and hand tools will be highly regarded. A Certificate III in Civil Construction and Maintenance, Traffic Control Work Card and other relevant tickets and licences are desirable.
To succeed in the role, you will have the ability to work effectively as part of a team, follow safe work practices and undertake a range of physical and practical tasks in an outdoor environment. You will have the literacy and numeracy skills to complete required documentation, be able to adapt procedures to suit different situations and take responsibility for the safe use, inspection and care of plant and equipment.
