Company Description
About Mondiale
Mondiale keeps freight moving — from the warehouse floor to the open road. We're a fast-paced logistics operation where the work is physical, the hours are early (or late), and the people are the backbone of everything we do. We're looking for an HR Business Partner who's just as comfortable on the dock as they are in a meeting room.
Job Description
This isn't a desk-bound, policy-writing HR role. You'll be the trusted advisor to our operations leaders and a familiar face to the warehouse crews and drivers who keep this business moving — literally.
What You'll Be Doing
-
Building real, day-to-day relationships with operations leaders across our Sydney warehouse and transport sites — providing HR support that's practical, commercially grounded, and actually useful on the floor
-
Living and breathing Awards and Enterprise Agreements — interpretation, compliance, and staying ahead of renewal so there are no nasty surprises
-
Getting out from behind the desk: site walks, shift changeovers, pre-starts, and showing up where the work actually happens — not just when something's gone wrong
-
Giving frontline supervisors and team leaders the confidence to have the hard conversations around performance, conduct, and capability — and backing them up when it gets uncomfortable
-
Navigating the real complexities of a 24/7 blue-collar operation — rostering headaches, award interpretation, fatigue management, and all the grey areas that come with it
-
Supporting recruitment and retention in a market where good drivers and experienced warehouse staff don't stay on the shelf for long
-
Working shoulder-to-shoulder with the WHS team — because in a warehouse and transport environment, HR and safety aren't separate conversations
-
Handling grievances, disputes, and the occasional situation that no policy manual quite prepares you for — with calm, good judgement, and a straight-talking approach that earns respect on the floor
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
-
4+ years, solid HRBP or senior HR generalist experience in an industrial, or operations-heavy environment — freight, logistics, manufacturing, or warehousing backgrounds all welcome
-
Genuine working knowledge of Enterprise Agreements, the Fair Work Act, and relevant Modern Awards (Road Transport and Storage Services awards a strong plus)
-
Strong relationship-building instincts — you earn trust through consistency and turning up, not just through policy documents
-
A practical, solutions-focused approach; you know when to follow the process and when to read the room
