The Boards Technician Support provides technical support in the testing, diagnosis, and repair of electronic boards. This role supports production and engineering teams by ensuring boards are tested, repaired, and processed efficiently in line with company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the analysis, fault identification, and repair of defective electronic boards in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Support the maintenance of working knowledge of Magellan board types and configurations.
- Assist in developing and improving board testing processes and techniques.
- Perform testing to ensure incoming supplier boards meet functional requirements.
- Operate ABEL and inventory control systems to track board status and movement.
- Follow established soak testing and functional testing procedures.
- Support continuous improvement in testing efficiency and workflow processes.
- Identify and escalate quality assurance issues related to design or supplier defects.
- Carry out testing and repair tasks within required timeframes to support production deadlines.
- Work both independently and collaboratively to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure tools and test equipment are properly maintained and within calibration requirements.
- Follow all quality assurance procedures, including correct use of testing labels/stickers.
- Ensure all test specifications and documentation are accurately filed on the server.
- Maintain accurate tracking of all boards, ensuring they are recorded, stored, and distributed correctly.
Skills & Requirements
- Experience or training in electronics, electrical systems, or PCB testing/repair preferred.
- Basic understanding of electronic fault finding and diagnostic techniques.
- Ability to follow structured testing procedures and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently with supervision when required.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Exposure to inventory systems or electronic tracking tools (e.g., ABEL) is an advantage.
