Your main responsibilities as an Assistant Electorate Officer include:
- Supporting, assisting, and engaging with constituents and community groups
- Working from a secondary office, assisting the Electorate Officer in providing direct confidential secretarial, executive, and administrative support to Mr Bryson Head MP
- In liaison with the Electorate Officer and building manager as necessary, manage general administration and daily operations of the secondary electorate office.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to:
- Liaise with and manage enquiries from constituents, groups and organisations who contact the electorate office for information, assistance and advice (via face-to-face, phone, mail or electronic means)
- Develop, maintain and utilise networks including community referral and assistance networks, government departmental and/or ministerial offices
- Manage, draft and proofread correspondence for ministers and constituents
- Undertake research into various issues; and
- Comprehensively use a range of PC software
- Show initiative and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Other responsibilities:
- Draft social media and graphics content
- Assist in compiling and publishing newsletters and community updates
- Prepare reports, briefs and correspondence related to the business of the electorate, for the information and attention of the Member as required
- Stay informed of emerging community trends, issues, and concerns to provide information to the member on an as needs basis.
Assisting the Electorate Officer in:
- Managing the primary email inbox and correspondence
- Arranging events, appointments and meetings for Member's diary
- Follow and uphold financial obligations as set by legislation and Parliamentary Service policy and procedure.
- Check and report any technical issues associated with items of office equipment or security equipment, and assist the Parliamentary Service in annual office stocktake processes; and
- Reporting security incidents, risks or threats that occur in the electorate office.
This is a full-time position, located in Chinchilla, Queensland. Applicants seeking a four-day work week, or nine-day fortnight are encouraged to apply. Immediate start available.
Commencing at $86,909 with bands up to $108,698 per annum (depending on skills and experience) plus generous superannuation.
