With MLC’s brand‑new Aquatic Centre opening imminently, featuring an 8‑lane 50m pool with moveable boom, a dedicated Learn to Swim pool, and specialised diving facilities, this is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and ambitious program.
MLC Swimming is seeking an enthusiastic Learn to Swim Instructor to help develop confident, technically strong young swimmers and support our junior pathways. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, passion and the ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic team.
- Casual positions available
- Term 3 start – teaching and covers
- Monday to Friday afternoons 3:30-5:30pm and Saturday 9:00am-12:00pm
- Opportunities to facilitate holiday intensive programs and students from local schools.
About the Role
- Deliver high‑quality Learn to Swim classes and non-competitive fitness squads focused on technique, skill progression, and enjoyment
- Build positive, respectful relationships with swimmers, families, and colleagues
- Contribute to a values‑driven, inclusive team culture aligned with MLC’s values
- Uphold all College policies, procedures, and Child Safe standards
About You
Essential
- Experience working with children in a swimming or instructional setting.
- Learn to Swim Teaching Certificate (minimum) or Australian Swim Coach License
- Working with Children Check (WWCC) if aged 18 years or over
- Current CPR
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organised, reliable, and able to work both independently and within a team
- Ability to motivate, support, and inspire young swimmers
- Commitment to high customer service standards
Desirable
- Experience coaching junior swimmers in a competitive program
- Personal experience in competitive swimming
- Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- AUSTSWIM extension courses (or equivalent)
