Sandringham Ambulatory Care Centre (SACC) is a Not-for-profit (NFP) organisation that operates Urgent Care Clinics at Sandringham Hospital, Prahran, and Frankston, alongside health pathways and private medical practices. Embedded in the Bayside community, our clinics are designed to reduce pressure on hospital Emergency Departments by managing a high volume of walk-in patients.
Our medical receptionist plays a vital role in patient safety, flow, and overall experience.
About the Role

SACC is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and patient-focused Medical Receptionist to join our Urgent Care Clinic, working at our Prahran location. As a Medical Receptionist you will be a key point of contact for patients, supporting both administrative and clinical workflows. Your primary focus will be ensuring patients are accurately checked in, and directed appropriately, while delivering calm, professional, and empathetic care.
Key Responsibilities
First point of contact for patients and families
Patient bookings over the phone
Patient registration including collecting important data for the service
Answering incoming phone calls and managing enquiries
Maintaining accurate documentation in the software package Best Practice
About You
Must have prior experience working Medical Reception - General Practice
Preferably experience using software package Best Practice
Strong administrative, organisational, and time-management skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills; calm under pressure
Patient-focused and adaptable
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Requirements
Permanent Australian residency or a current valid working visa
Current National Police Check or willing to obtain
Valid Working with Children Check or willing to obtain
